I bought a 550D and have a G12. I already have ZB (ver. 6.9.0.1) and DPP (ver. 3.11.31.0) installed for the G12. Do I need to install the ZB/DPP software for the 550D but use a different folder name to use the 550D profile, EOS utility, PhotoStitch, and so on? It seems the T2i has many more utilities that will tie in with ZB/DPP than the G12. I would sincerely appreciate any advice you have.

I don't know what versions come with the 550D -- I'd imagine that at least DPP is a newer version...is it?

Anyway, the newer versions are backward-compatible with older cameras. So, my advice would be to go to the Canon Web site and navigate to one of the newer models and to the software section (for your OS and OS version) and download the updates for the software you have installed. If you already have the latest version, just go to the next app. It looks like DPP ver. 3.11.31.0 may be the most recent and so should work fine with both your bodies. I'm not sure about EOS Utility, ZoomBrowser, Picture Style Editor, etc, but the same should go unless there is an app that is specially designed for the G12...

Thanks Tony,

I cheated. Called Canon Tech support. They said just do easy install and it would update everything for the T2i and tell me I have a newer version of the ZB/DPP software, ask me if I want to leave it or overwrite, Choose Leave it or Use most current and go from there. I was making it hard, as usual:oops:
