Well, Magic Lantern 2.3 is out and I heard good things about the improved HDR bracketing so I couldn't wait and donated to the project to opt in for immediate download. Money goes to a good cause. I set up the HDR bracketing to automatic and +1 and let the camera go. It took 6 photos for each shot. I did 2 shots for 12 pics to make the pic below. I used SNS-HDR to combined the images and photoshop to combine the panoramic. I'm very pleased with Magic Lantern and encourage others to check it out. http://www.magiclantern.fm/ (external link) it will be free to the masses on Aug 13th I believe. I'm using the canon 60D btw.

It's pretty slick and the auto HDR determines how many shots to cover the range and fires away.

Thats a great looking shot. I've been using a 20D for ages and was thinking of updating to the 60D especially since it does use Magic lantern.
I was really hoping they would get it for the 40D, but it never happened, I think mostly because of how the firmware is set up.
This is a cool feature as it must determine what the dynamic range is and how many shots you need.
How fast can it take the shots, does the software determine what the burst rate is?

I'm no expert with ML and don't know how it does the automatic thing, but it took these pics fairly quickly. The brief documentation I saw said that automatic would cover the range needed. This was my first time using it so I guess as time goes on I can see how well it does with covering that range.

This is great news! Just wish they would include the micro focus adjust then i would say the 60D still kicks butt :). The focus stacking feature also is a good looking feature. This is some kick ass software.

Loving the HDR video with the new Magic Lantern. haven't got to the HDR bracketing yet. Thats tomorrow. So I'm guessing M Mode, then do I need to setup the three exposure bracketing on my T3i like normal and then ML takes control?

Just set it up in ML as to what you want, dial in your 0 exposure and push the button once, it will do a delay and than fire all the shots. Make sure HDR Bracketing is set to On in ML menu and when you don't want to take HDR pics, make sure it is set to off.

This version of ML for the 5dII is super impressive - it is a truly polished version of the Christmas preview.

Maybe there is some hope:

http://www.magiclantern.fm …ews/133-defective-cameras (external link)

looks like they are emphasizing (at least by putting it in bold) the 7D as far as donor cameras go.
