Jul 29, 2012 12:11 | #1 Using a 1D Mk2 with 100-400 L today I got on a number of occassions an Error 01 message as the shutter stopped mid shot as it were. I dont have a manual so can someone confirm this error message is a communication problem between body & lens? Most Canons currently - 1D(Mks 2&3&4), 7D gripped 50D gripped x2, 40Dgripped x2, 30Dgripped, 20D gripped, 350 gripped, 300. with L lenses

Just wiping them with a microfiber cloth should do it although some people use a bit of alcohol. It is not recommended to use a pencil eraser, such an abrasive is rarely necessary and you can rub opff the gold plating.
