I will be in the Serengeti in Oct

Jul 30, 2012 08:37 | #11 On our trip we hand carried a Go Pro camera to our guide (a good friend). He shot lots of video clips with it hanging outside the vehicle, attached to various locations in the vehicle, on the end of a extended monopod, on the ground, and in a tree. We had great fun with it. He made a couple of trailers in iMovie.

What happened in the last part of the vid when the lion charged. Did it get the camera or did you get it up out of the way?

I saw another video where they sent the camera in on a remote controlled car set up. Lion cubs thought it was there Christmas present, it took hours to get it back...chewed up. They then armoured it and sent it in again a lion examined it and turned it on its back. They drove up to it and reached out of there vehicle and got it but it was nerve wracking as the pride were only a few feet away watching them.

The biggest problem was running out of duct tape. Not like you can run down to Home Depot and pick a pack.
