Earlier this year I was on location with Tracer shooting behind the scenes photos and video as they filmed their clip for “Devil Ride”, the second single lifted from the album “Spaces In Between”.

The entire crew worked effortlessly and gelled really well together, despite the hideously hot, dusty conditions!

Director Tim Pine managed to keep the team on focus and working successfully to the time frames allocated – no easy task when he himself was getting sunburnt to a crisp!

When shooting BTS shots like these, it is important to frame scenes that not only will reflect the finished video, but also capture the vibe on the set. So, I would shoot long and tight from a distance while the cameras were rolling and then come in for wide, flash filled shots once Tim had called “cut”. This was also a great way to catch off the cuff moments (both still and video) of the team right after a take went wrong (or right!)

Here’s the finished video:

And here’s a behind the scenes look at the making of filmed by myself and edited by Tim:

Nice work Benon, are there still more shots to come from the Europe tour?

I'd hate to be the crew that has to haul the backline out there..!

Thanks Joe :)

I'm working on a gallery of "my selections" from the Europe tour for over at my site - I know I started threads here from individual shows, but on the road it became too tedious to update both my website, the tracer website, my facebook, the tracer facebook another forum plus POTN so one had to go :(

Good news is we're back in Europe end of Oct - tour dates released tomorrow :) Will post them here.
