Sorry that my first post is here, but i guess i gotta start somewhere. I live FAR away from internet, but when I am around the net, I have been frequenting this Forum, and liking what I see. I like photography, and would love to improve, but i feel i need more feedback to do so. My wife says my pictures are great, but she's a bit biased heh heh.

So let me know what you think, this is the first time ive showed any pictures to people that know about taking pictures..but im ready for whatever you got to tell me.

All pictures taken with my Canon 60d.

With the picture with the "valley" im really curious what i can do to make it..better. Its this HUGE valley, and really amazing to look at with your eyes. But then the picture to me makes it seem just kinda like a boring ol' valley..what can make it better?

I'm going to start with the valley picture.....When you have a large wide space put your camera on a tripod and shoot multiple shots swinging from on side to the other....then stitching the pictures together you can end up with a nice panorama ..

some of your shots have a depth of field issue so their not as sharp as they could be....frog pictures crop a little tighter...

I feel you have the right idea just need some fine tuning....since you don't have internet....grab a few photography books on basic technique and study...

So if God made Man & Woman....whats his excuse for Nikon...

yeah, you have DOF issues there, but, overall, it's a great start, I think. with "issues" there I mean bad chosen f stop - some things, that could only help [or required even] are already outside of field.

aaand - welcome to POTN!

Excellent! Thank you!

So poorly chosen f stop..i could see that. So, i should use a higher DOF? I think that could make sense, since i just came from cheap handheld cameras im still trying to get away from the thinking that "any picture with a small part of the frame in focus is professional." I know its not true, but im still working on finding the balance.

So like with the close-up shots, i should have shot with a higher DOF? which means.. so like instead of 2.8...5.0? or we talking 9?

And thanks for the welcome!

uuu, from 2.8 to 9 is pretty drastic. just one stop at a time and you will find it. after a while it will get automatic for you.
