Hi all, first post in this forum so go easy :P This is the first time I have done anything like this, I have been doing a lot of Light-Painting over the last 7 months (I'll have to get around to posting some) so this was well out of my comfort zone!

I was asked by a friend to take a few shots of the local team he plays for, they have just got new strips and a sponsor and wanted a few team shots. It wasn't until after I did them he mentioned they were going to go to the local paper for publishing! I was well chuffed, he hadn't told me on purpose as he thought I wouldn't have been up for it (I'm not that confident in front of people haha)

Anyway enough talking more showing! so for first time doing anything like this what do you guys think? (These are the best and slightly edited shots of the night)

Thanks, very much appreciated :) I'm not a big football fan at all, after the wee shoot, I did want to stay and get a few in game but only had my 18-55 with me and it was dinner time :p

Hopefully I will get to a game soon, give the 55-250 a good run and see how it pans out.

Great start. Exposure and focus is right on which is a critical to make any image worthwhile so good job there. my biggest crit is simply the background. the goal adds little to the image and the clutter of buildings and netting behind it really detract from the subject (the team). What I typically do if I know the background is going to messy is to move the team out as far from the b/g as possible. I've even had them simply turn around if they lined up near the end or touch lines. its all about depth of field. if you told them to walk to the top of the box and turn around, then shot from where they were originally standing, I think you'd have a better results all else being equal.
