Just wondering. Do photographers really want the video capabilities on such an expensive camera. I have paid allot for features I will never use.

I paid so much for these capabilities, I'm now forcing myself to learn ;)

Don't use it

I do not use the video mode. But I really don't care the camera has this feature and also do not care about the price. Paid this price I love to shoot photos with this camera...

True, I'm sure the video capabilities have added something to the cost of this camera. But since the R&D of putting video in a dSLR has been around for a couple of years now and that cost has been recouped, I wonder how much (or little?) it has actually added to the cost of the MK III.

One of these I'll likely upgrade to this body. It won't be for the video, but for the other strengths and capabilities. But if grandchildren come along I may have fun experimenting with movie making :D.

Consider it cost sharing with the DSLR filmmakers who will never take a picture with theirs. :D

I use the video capability on my 60D quite a bit. Were it not for the improvements in the video capability, the 5d3 would have been much, much lower on my to-buy list.

nearly all cameras and phones have video, you're probably paying little for that added feature.
But if you had a refrigerator that shot video then I would agree that you paid for features you would never use

However, I wouldn't mind to much if they removed the Direct Print button.

I confess I don't even know how to use it on my old 5Dc - I never had a need - but it probably only adds pennies, and may attract more sales for those who would actually count it as a plus in their purchasing decision.;)
