I ordered my set, they came Thursday, used them on three consecutive magazine shoots and worked absolutely flawlessly. 5D iii, 3x 580Ex ii, 565EX & 430EX ii. Not one hiccup. Be careful to disable the default HSS on the triggers. My 565 wouldn't trigger at first because I had forgotten to disable it.

An amazing piece of kit!!!

I have a question if the 622's would work with older canon PS camera. like Canon G7? I could not make YN565EX to trigger when directly connected to G7, but it would trigger if I use YN603C just fine.
Has anyone tried Canon G7 + YN622+ YN565EX configuration or newer YN568EX?

No, but I just tried a 580EXII and G9, and while sync was correct, there was no control of the flash power output--it kept firing at 1/4 power (where the flash had last been set manually). Essentially, it looks like the G9 is a "Type C" camera.

Power control works fine with the flash on a TTL cable or on the hotshoe directly.

thank you! I believe that YN firmware ( either in flash or 622C ) does not read/ communicate properly with G7 or as you tested, G9 Canon PC cameras. When I encountered the issue first time ( G7 + YN565EX in hotshoe), the answer from YN support was that it is not suppose to work because G7 is not true TTL2 camera. I was hopping that 622's have corrected the issue, but obviously not.
It is interesting that canon support disagree with that and confirmed that G7 should work with canon flash ( aka 430ex2 or 580ex2) just fine.

There was a big change in the way Canon handled flash, starting with the 1D III released in March 2007. Cameras released earlier like the G7 (2006) simply do not have the capabilities we expect today.

YN cannot add facilities to cameras that Canon have not provided. It is not something that can be "corrected".

The G7 should nevertheless be able to fire the YN-565 just as the G9 does.

The YN-622C should be able to fire (simple trigger) the YN-565, at flash-set manual levels.

"Work" is an empty word, begging the question "in what way?".

You may find pages 4 and 5 of TOYUG of some help - link in signature.

I have a Canon G7, and have tried it with my Canon 420EX and Canon 580EXII and they work perfectly fine on hotshoe. Have not tried the 622c's on it though since there would be no menu to change settings on the 622c. I can give it a shot if you want. I also just ordered a YN568EX and should receive it this week. Can give that a shot on the hotshoe to see if it works.

I assume you mean using a set of YN-622c's to control the YN568 off camera since thats what this forum is about. It would be as simple as going into the camera flash function settings menu and turning on Hi Speed sync. Check out Clive's user guide page 13 for a few screenshots of the menus from the Canon 5DmkIII

Yeah, but the G9 was released in August of 2007 and has a Digic III processor in it. And a flash control menu. It looks like I should have control of "Auto/Manual" power control of the connected flash, HSS, and wireless function as well. And I do with the flash on the hotshoe or a TTL cable.

The YN-622c, however is not communicating this information.

Weirdly. If I put the G9 into Av mode, use the G9 menu to clear flash settings, and set the flash mode to "Auto" on the camera menu, I sporadically get FEC control over the flash. But then I lose it and it goes back to only sync signal command. Intermittent "Type B" behavior, as it were. Won't work in M mode, because the flash power control type is forced to Manual.

Thanks for responding. I realize that unfortunately there is no menu to control external flash on G7, but I cannot get G7 to fire YN565EX properly. Although it fires, I think it does at full power and the image is overexposed. Basically no e-ttl functionality, just manual mode.
It would be interesting to see if you can test YN568EX on the hotshoe and see if it works in e-ttl mode. If it does, then maybe it also will work in e-ttl mode with 622.

I agree with your observation. YN does not communicate properly with G7 ( and now we know G9 as well). This is exactly the problem I was trying to point out in my post.

nickm001 - The earliest G* that works with the 622 is, AFAIK, the G12, as listed. The YN-622C is designed to work with EOS DSLR cameras. It will work as a simple sync'ing trigger with other cameras (G7, G9, Nikon, Sony...)

You have confirmed that they work together in simple sync trigger mode. Try setting the YN565 to a manual power level.

I did a quick test last night of the 622c's on the G7. Long story short, I could not get it to work properly. In Auto mode it does not fire, in any other mode it just fires a full power shot overexposing. I did not try to setup the flash in manual mode and see if I could control it that way, but did try to control it on the on camera menu in manual mode, but did not help. I was using a 580EXII on the 622c's, and just FYI, the 580EXII works 100% perfect on hotshoe alone.
Once I receive my YN-568EX I'll give it a shot on the hotshoe. I may also try seting up manual mode on flash with 622c's as well when I get some time to play with it.
