Hi there, I am one idiot that has bought one set of triggers without looking for incompatibility, and now I have two beautiful useless triggers for my 1d3 :D:lol:

Only one question: If I buy only one 622c to work as transmitter compatible with 1d series, can I use it as master for my two 622c?

The best solution is to contact your supplier and arrange a swap. Then you will not need to worry about which unit is which. YN (LiangGC) may respond to your question.

FYI : RECEIVED my new YN622's and they work with my 1d4 now.

Yordan ; just curious, when you go into the flash menu, you can operate them, correct? Make sure you are on first curtain sync and not HSS. see if that helps

Sorry for this problem. You could contact your seller for replacement. For your question, the answer is yes, if you have a 622c that works for 1D series, you can use it as transmitter and the other two as receiver.

We have fixed the issue last week. Still I suggest you leave a note to your seller, or buy it from our official ebay store.

Thanks.

Heard a rumour that Lencarta are releasing a trigger that will trigger any light to 1/8000th and not the HSS way. The next few months should be very exciting in the trigger market.

I will try and post some details.

Just out of curiosity, which are the "HSS way" and the "non hss way" ?

According to what I know, in the "HSS way", the camera has to "tell" the flash that the trigger will be released soon and the flash to fire after certain amount of time.

Alot of time was spent to figure out how the bulb inside the flash (xenon-style maybe?) can be triggered in few small pulses,as it is described in the HSS description, but no success there. As of my knowledge, once the process of discharging the capacitor has started, one can 'cut' it through IGBT/MOSFETs with proper PWM or pulses, but cant figure out how the bulb itself can handle such behavior.
That being said, I guess the HSS is only properly synced moment, rather than dealing with 400V+, millisecond pulses (and according to some research done back in the days, dealing with higher voltages in short pulses is not that easy,as for example 3V-5V).

As for the details - please post if you find anything.

which is your official ebay store?

I contacted the ebay seller where I bought my triggers (I'm in Italy and the ebay seller is from hong kong, I think the better thing is to buy another trigger)

Mine came today.. These are very nice units. I really like the look and feel of them. They seem to work great as well.

One observation is that there is not a 1/4-20 thread to screw on a stand. You need to use the hotshoe clamp or just use an adapter that has the threaded portion. The foot that came with the 580 exii worked just fine....

At first I did not understand the Canon ratios, but after watching Dans great video again and fiddling around, I get it now. I thought you can set each flash incrementally like using the AC3 from PW, but that's not the case. no biggy, because i understand how they work now.

I purchased them here...

Which I "believe" is the official store. The shipping was actually faster than estimated.

I am very happy and will probably purchase another set for a backup.

Argh.. just received my 3 set of triggers after 2 weeks of wait. And now they'll have to go back and wait and wait again. However, it's working beautifully with my 5Dii.

Besides the PC sync port, I wish it had a 3.5mm connection port though.

Hi, this thread is very interesting , but long. Probably good to have a STICKY for the new YN-622c clarifying features. Some questions I hope folks don't might consolidating their knowledge on...

1) In Manual mode, does the YN-622c emit any pre-flash? In manual mode, the competitor product, Phottix Odin sends out a pre-flash,and this hinders the correct use of a Sekonic light meter.

2) Wonder if anyone has tested the YN-622c for full compatibility with the NISSIN Di866 Mk2 flash in both ETTL-II and Manual modes?

3) Wonder if anyone has tested the YN-622c for full compatibility with the new YN-568EX flash in both ETTL-II and Manual modes?

Thanks

Yongnuo should really do something against this store. Fishy business.
