Just received my 622's today which seem to work fine. But the AF assist beam on both units are off. The lowest beam is at the top of my camera's center foxus point. Is this normal or my set is faulty? Thanks

I have not yet seen one that I would consider well aligned! However, you more than most would be aware of sighting angle in relation to distance to target! :-)

Some have carried out adjustments. What we need is something like a replacement carriage in the 622C, with a couple of small adjusting screws. Access to the screw heads would probably reduce moisture protection, but personally i would accept that.

I've just read the whole thread. They could have made the lens externally adjustable just like gun lasers, example, CMR-201 where you can easily adjust windage and elevation. I will have a go at opening my set when I get ample time as I don't want to rush and making mistakes...

So far I am happy with the 622 triggers, except the AF assist beam which is off center. To me, it looks like it beats the more expensive Radio Poppers (though I have not used RP's).

Will it work this way?
first 622 on 70D.
Second 622 on Speedlite 600EX-RT Set at TTL
2 - YN-603 on 2-430 EX Set at Manual.

I am not own YN-603 yet, if it work this way I will order 1 set YN-603, it save me 50$.
I know yn-622 not work at TTL with 430EX.

Please give me some advise.

thanks

I can think of two options:

A. 70D + 622C + 603-TX on top.
622 + 600EX-RT using E-TTL
2x (603-RX + 430EX) using on-flash Manual.
Requires 2x 622C; 3x 603.

or much more versatile, B.
70D + 622C
622 + 600EX-RT using E-TTL
2x (622C + 430EX) using E-TTL set on-flash. Groups available.
Requires 4x 622C.

622C works happily with 430EX in E-TTL.

Hello, I have a 5d and I am pretty sure it does not have a menu to control flash. Can I use the YN-622C to control my ETTL flashes in ETTL mode off camera? Thank you.

The 5D is a "type B" camera - they provide for remote control using E-TTL and FEC, but not Manual levels.

YongNuo are preparing to produce another device in the 622C line, a controller which provides full control of remote 622Cs using its own settings interface. It's a few months off yet, I suspect.

OMG, I just bought a set, tehn they have another new version coming... hopefully they are backward compatible with the old 622

The forthcoming YN622C-TX controller is an add-on, not a replacement. The line will have two items. The 622C we use now, and a controller which will replace a 622C in the camera's hotshoe. 622C will still be the remote devices.

Not only will the C-TX provide its own settings interface, it will act as a receiver for a remote shutter release, in the form of a hand-held 622C! It also will break the Canon rule of all-TTL or all-Manual, allowing each group to use a different flash mode. (Based on the now-available N-TX for Nikon.)

But will it fire any upcoming YN flashes like the 603 does with the 560 iii ?

622C stacked with a 622N

At our local photography club meet tonight, one team were hosting an off-camera flash session.

Two stands, each with a 622 receiver and a flash unit (one with various modifiers being tried out). The "customers" had an assortment of either Canon or Nikon cameras and the 622's had to be swopped out each time. As the C won't talk to the N (and vice versa) I wondered if the two could be stacked - we tried it, it worked.

So, on the light stand we fitted a 622N, onto that a 622C and then a Yongnuo 568 flash - now the flash fired whether you triggered it with a Canon or a Nikon.

I can't think of many scenarios where this setup is desired, but at least there is a solution for Camera Club nights.

Lawrence
