I'm excited. Planning to get it either way, but curious as to why it wasn't made in an upright design so it doesn't have to be lowered to adjust settings?

I believe YN has already considered this.

I plan to try converting a Pixel TF-321 adapter to a right-angle unit for use with tripod shooting.

Wicked!

I am very happy with my 622C's and really like the menu system on camera. Having a flash on top of camera also works well for me so the new TX system may not get as much use... but I'll still be ordering one as soon as it comes out!

I look at it the same way, not being able to top mount a flash could be annoying at times. The in camera menu isn't hard to use, just slow. The TX would have to be very simple and be a time saver to make it worthwhile.

A setup with three dials for flash power adjustment per ABC group would be nice, with a top mount shoe to boot.

I'm new to this stuff but I think I have seen a certain setup with dials on them.

Other than that I really like how the radios add so much more distance and work between barriers. I bought 4 of them with a view to get more flashes. As well as a studio strobe that can be triggered from these. Ahhh, too many wants... l0l

Fortunately (or by great design) it's not either - or, but both. Use the 622C + camera menus with flash on top, and C-TX when it's not wanted.

Where would you fit a hotshoe on this?

Courtesy of lianggc - probably a pre-production unit.

This is "simple", but its not obvious that the buttons can have two different functions, or more in combination. Learning is required.;)

By convention, the button is labeled as "Short Press/Long Press".

Will the C-TX make flash/group adjustments while in hand with a 622/flash in the camera's hot shoe allowing you to use it as a remote shutter trigger simultaneously?

No. The C-TX is only for mounting on-camera, and the 622C has no port for a shutter release cable.

The 622C (hand-held or under a flash) is used as the shutter-release transmitter to the C-TX.

And of course, the top plate shows two functions per button, unlike the N-TX (or has that been updated the same way?).

Aww. Would have been cool to have the C-TX as a remote trigger also. Thanks for the quick response!

Yes, at x-sync and slower shutter speeds. At faster speeds, no, at present. The B800's burn time is too short. However, the soon-to-be released YN622C-TX has a timing adjustment that may fix this.

The C-TX has its own settings interface which allows it to over-ride Canon's rules. The existing 622C is still used as remotes.

Hi...I am going to invade this thread because we have a lot in common....I just got the Cheetah 180 and also have two 600rt's...I have been using the rt's as fill flash on camera via ttl and triggering the 180 with my old photix stratos triggers which allow you to mount the on camera flash in normal operation. The system works great and I actually do 3 light commercial shoots like this...on camera fill (ttl)...kicker light (600 rt on manual) and the Cheetak
with an umbrella as key light. The one thing I was missing was the ability to do HSS with the 180 outside..so I invested in 2 Yongnuo 622c triggers. I was able to get hss from the cheetah, but it really did not give me any signifcant power gain in HSS...plus my 600 rt's won't play well with ...I lose the ttl adjustment...just does not work.

Still trying to figure this out...probably will have to wait until the Yongnuo rt's are available.
