So, what's the problem with these possible old triggers? Is there a way to detect if they're the troublesome type? It sounds like they're just not compatible with the Canon 1D series of cameras and that's it? (Which to me is not really a problem... I doubt I'll ever be using these triggers with a $6k+ body...)

I am having a hard time downloading the user manual from the Yongnuo website (www.yongnuoebay.com/sm/yn622c.pdf (external link)). Anyone able to download it successfully? My computer at work blocks the download while at home, it is taking forever to download and then completely stops midway. I have tried it at least 3 times now. If someone has already downloaded it, can you please host it on a server and send out a link to the hosted file.

Thanks!

Just recieved a set of these ( been a Pixel King user for a while now) liking the way the Flash Menu settings are held, even if you swap cameras of turn the units on/off...big improvement.
So...found a little compatibility problem. when using these on a 5D2 with 580exII flash, everything works great apart from the FEL (Flash Exp Lock)..it'll pop the pre flash as normal, but will give a full power dump on fire..:( its only with this camera /flash combo. My other camera flash combo's 50d/580exII 550d/580exII 5d2/430ex work as expected....anyone else willing to try this out..?

The problem was only with the transmitter mode when placed on 1D series. The receiver mode firmware was not changed, and original units can be used as receivers with a new 1D-compatible unit as transmitter.

Hi, Mike. Could the FEL button have been reassigned on this body by camera C.Fn?

I understand you :) My comment was addressed drashkum and everyone who makes the orders.
If your dealer has replaced all the problem triggers after 25 August, that is very good! It's real, Factory in ShenZhen close to Hong Kong.
But I still have doubts about it, so much so triggers were not withdrawn from sale to delivery of new ones that appeared only after 7-10 days.
Many sold uncorrected triggers ..

For example: my dealer in Shanghai learned about the problem on August 28 from me, and only then contacted with the plant, to clarify the situation.
And while the new trigger was not enough, Sales remained uncorrected.

Thanks . i had my apprehension too until i recieved a mail from this dealer

Dear drashkum,,Hi,
Yes, the factory is updating this product, the new coming items are all updated.
I will contact you when it is available.
Best regards,
Jason

Looks like atleast this dealer had given away all the old one for the firmware update. I had sent a message to him on ebay when i placed the order asking him to ship the new one with updation.

Thanks guys for making me rest easy

Just tried this a minute ago: I think I can reproduce this.

Canon 5D MKII + Canon 580EXII
Camera setting: 1/200, f5.6, ISO100
FlashSettings: Wireless Disabled, HighSpeed TTL
I tried E-TTL II setting on both Average and Evaluative mode.

If I use FEL I get a full pop.

Maybe someone is interested in a bunch of images and a quick review of the YN-622. I put some information together. Feel free to ask for more information if you like.

Clive, Thanks for your fantastic work. The guide describes the feature of 622c very clearly. I believe it's very very helpful for the new users.

Vnation, how about with wireless enabled? As I know, some camera bodies limits the response time of flash while wireless is disabled. That's why we suggest to keep it enabled when you don't use 2nd curtain sync.
