Glad the info is helpul! BTW version 3 of The Other Guide makes the groupings clearer, I hope.

You will be able to use ETTL, FEC and Ratios from your camera menus. If you want to set manual powers with the 430EX, you will need to do it on-flash.

The YN-622C will give you all that the ST-E2 provides, and more. It will work in situations that the ST-E2 will not handle.

Any reason why I cannot at the moment open the guide?

None that I know. I had difficulty yesterday uploading the latest version, but everything looks to be in order.

Strange all I get is a message saying there is a temporary problem generating this page. Tried it in IE 9 and firefox.

Today, one of the users did a little test with the camera 1DX
use flash 270EXII, 550EX, 580EX

Тhe results are:

270EXII
Manual mode is fully supported (including wireless control of ALL, A: B and A: B: C)
E-TTL + FEC supported correctly
E-TTL in wireless mode works correctly only in the ALL
In modes: A: B and A: B, C does not work FEC, Ratios do not work properly

550EX, 580EX
Manual mode is not supported by the (expected)
E-TTL + FEC supported correctly
E-TTL in wireless mode works correctly only in the ALL
In modes: A: B and A: B, C does not work FEC, Ratios do not work properly

Maybe tomorrow, after a general reset of setting, we would have a repeat test

Hi, iituner. Thanks for the info.

270EX II - I was told that there was no manual mode. Certainly no on-flash setting. (That is why it is listed as a YN class 3 flash). Does it enable manual levels when controlled by camera menus? If so, then firing groups could be expected to work in M as that is largely a function of the 622.

270EX II again - I am surprised that ETTL firing modes, and especially FEC does not work correctly.

550EX - same for ETTL firing modes and FEC.

Canon may have changed the calls, but I would then expect the outcomes to be similar on, say, the 580EX II. They have usually maintained compatibility.

Hate to add a pointless post here but I have to say that these have been wonderful so far! I've had them a while but only limited use so far, just not much time for shooting.

I have no other TTL triggers to compare with, but compared to using the canon wireless or compared to using manual triggers, these are incredible! For the price, I can honestly say that these are one of the best spent upgrades I've ever made

(Using with a 50D, flashes are YN-565EX)

Clive,
I really appreciate the work you've done to compile this users guide.
That said, I really don't like having to get it from Google.
I'd be happy to provide an FTP link for the document if finding a more generic approach to file sharing is not available.

Today Facebook essentially stole all the images on Instigram without bothering to warn any of their subscribers.

Google has a long history of collecting data so it can be sold to marketers.

I wonder how much spam I get because I have to download your very useful guide from one of their services. Only after logging into a gmail account I was forced to create.

Just a thought.

Glad to hear more opinions like this, as it seems to be fairly synonymous within the thread in general - which is why I decided to jump in with both feet and ordered 2 pair of these today! Really don't think the function can be beat for the price.

ETA: A very big thank you to you Clive for putting together the user guide such as you have. Much appreciated as I'm sure it is by many. Cheers man.
