I see there is now a few people on the forum trying to get good shots of these guys in flight. Certainly fun, not without its frustrations.

Following on from my first image - https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1207338 - here's another shot that I managed to get.

Frankly, I'm still to get the level of shots I want but with patience I'll get there (and in the meantime I'm keenly watching what others are getting).

Thank you Rick, SkyBaby, much appreciated.

Have got another I should originally have added above, but forgot. This one really gives an idea of how they were skimming the surface.

These guys are so extremely difficult to get, and that's a cracker of a shot Andrew (both are!)

I love the first shot. Very sharp and the colors are beautiful. It would be hanging on my wall.

Andrew your inspiring the rest of us to get some good shots of these little guys and gals as well. Terrific shots, and believe me I know how much patience it takes, its not easy by any means.

Excellent shots, Andrew; I've tried and more or less failed.

These are fantastic shots Andrew. I would be very happy to get this quality for a bird sitting still let alone whizzing about.

Thanks a lot for the kind comments. Really appreciated. Means a lot.

I did get one turning in, from the back, but head turned so you can see its face in profile as it looks at a fly in mid air and, yes, you can even see the fly it's looking at and about to catch but its just not good enough quality, alas (and would need to be too much of a crop).

Now if I could just get something like this, but, say, filling half the frame....

One day, perhaps. ;-)a
