I've been looking at getting a softbox for some time and think I've settled on getting a medium Chimera Super Pro Plus: http://www.bhphotovideo.com …per_Pro_Plus_Softbox.html (external link).

I've received different recommendations from two different vendors but would appreciate feedback from anyone who owns the above softbox or either of the these stands. For the time being, I will most likely be putting in two 600EX-RTs, using this Chimera Speed Ring: http://www.bhphotovideo.com …ed_Ring_for_Mounting.html (external link).

I've got some value Impact light stands already, but I don't think they will do the job. These are the two light stands I'm considering so far:

Avenger Light Stand with Castors

http://www.bhphotovideo.com …G_Locking_Caster_Set.html (external link)

I'd appreciate any feedback.

I don't think you necessarily need to go really heavy.

I have a number of Chimera's including a Large Super (4'X5') and use them with a variety of stands depending on how low or high I need to go. I've also used them with 3 heads on a boom (that can get a little unwieldy). Typically though they sit on a Manfrotto HD Aluminum 11' stand with castors (368B). Some of the stands I use are pretty light and they can support the Chimera just fine (providing that there's not much chance of them getting banged around or outside in wind), and at times I'll put a sand bag at the base.

I'd probably advise you to try it with your Impact stands before buying something else...just my opinion.

My answer for most photography questions: "it depends...'

I would consider the diameter spread of the lightstand legs first, before worrying as much about lightstand weight.
