Is this the quality i should expect from tamron 19-35?

shot taken at 1/1500, wide open at 19 mm and f/4
I see quite a bit of blurring on the edges and in the middle.
The focus was set on the swing set.
Is that typical of a wider aperture lens??
The only thing I did was cropped the image to take the snow out and resized it to 800 pixel wide. thanks

Hard to tell from the crop. The background's not parallel to the film plane, so you're probably running into DoF issues as much as anything on the edges. At f/4, even a 19 mm lens does have limited DoF. And what body's that on? My 19-35 isn't at all bad on a 20D, just not wide enough for me.
