Has anyone had this happen before? When I insert the memory card, the spring just pushes the card back out. It doesn't click and stay in.

If I just close the battery door, the card works fine, but when I open the door, the card pops out again...

That has never happened to mine. How old is it? Maybe you could bring it back to where you bought it, or call canon. I would get it fixed,

Have you tried inserting another SD card? If that other one still does not stay put, then it's repair time.

That's a good suggestion, trying another SD card, you never know.

Will try another one. Thanks for the suggestion. Still under warranty, so I can get it fixed, just trying to avoid that, as I already sent it out once for repair.

Good luck. Steve B.

Just signed up in case this info helps anyone. A mate of mine has an S95 with the same problem (SD card not locking into place).

On visual inspection of his SD Card I noticed a very small chip of plastic was broken off from the end near the pins (less than 1mm wide and perhaps 2-3mm long).

On further inspection I found the piece of plastic wedged deep inside the bottom of the SD card slot where the pins are, it was very hard to see as was quite small but with some light directed into the slot I was able to spot it.

I was then able to remove the rogue piece of plastic with a long safety pin and the SD card was then able to be locked into place correctly. Unfortunately the card was not readable as Im guessing there must be a small push pin inside that registers when the card is inserted (camera told me no card was inserted), and since the plastic area was broken off, I believe this may be the area where the pin positioned so it therefore wasnt registering.

A new card worked fine though.
