So I want to take my hobby and possibly start a small 'business' (if you would call it that). More of just something for my friends, family, and their friends...and family. I am a MIS major so website design and some photoshop come natural to me and I'd like to say im proficent in them. However, I am completly stumped as to what to call my 'business'. I would like to incorperate my name or intials, but im just not entirely sure. I want something easy, memeroble, possibly unique. The reason i ask this is I would like to start adding a 'name' or a image as my watermark for my photography...so any input as to what i can call this would be fantastic! Thank you!

For anyone wondering my name is William Bartels II. Initials WDB.

guess what?

nobody cares what your 'company' or business is named if you do good work.

I use "JacobPhoto' because it's easy to say and remember. I don't have a DBA or LLC, it's just the URL I use. My clients don't come to me because of my name, they come to me because of my skillset. I could use JL Photo, Photography by Jacob, Amazing Epic Photos, Jake Takes Pics, etc etc etc and my client list wouldn't change.

Yeah, while my initial name was Last Shot Photography it grew smaller to LS Photo and now LSP on cards, watermarks, etc. I need to check domains as well I guess. Deployment makes you lose track of things. :D

Taking business classes will get you further in the end than a flashy name.

IMO too many people try to make their business name / site name too catchy and often times too complex. As mentioned, just keep it simple. IMO, as simple as possible. You don't want potential clients / admires to mess up trying to type a long website name. Keep it as short as possible and let your photography speak for itself.

Here's my $0.02 worth...

WB Imagery - rhymes, simple, easy to remember, and your watermark/logo could easily be WBI or some such.

I'm with this, or even something like Bill Bartels Photography. Simpler is always better. More results in info overload and people simply forget who you are.
