I will be buying a new pair of 32GB CF cards for the 1Dx tomorrow and I'm trying to figure out how to throw my money at this problem.
I've searched here and elsewhere and haven't reached a firm conclusion about which makes and models are really at or near the top of the heap so I'd love to hear some opinions before I commit.
Also, I'm only looking at 3 e-tailers for this but I'm always happy to hear of other trustworthy sources.
The options on the table (so far) are:
- Lexar 32GB 1000x UDMA 7. (claimed 145MB/s Write, 150MB/s Read) - $428.50 for a 2-pack at store B.
- Delkin 32GB 1000x UDMA 7 (claimed 50 MB/s Write, 150MB/s Read) - $199 each at Store A (Oddly, their UDMA 6 Combat Flash is rated faster and is more expensive while the regular UDMA 6 is faster and cheaper. /sigh)
- Sandisk 32GB Extreme Pro UDMA 6 (claimed 90 MB/s R/W) - $149.95 each at store A. I couldn't find a Sandisk UDMA 7 card in this size at any of the stores I checked.
- Transcend 32GB 600x UDMA 7 (claimed 87MB/s Write, 92MB/s Read) $99.95 at store C.
I own cards from Sandisk, Lexar and Transcend and all have been perfect except for one warranty replacement on a Lexar card so I really don't have any brand loyalty.
I'm just looking for a reliable card that will keep the new 1D running smoothly.
Please help a poor, confused shopper out with your experience, advice or commentary.
Thank you in advance...
