My copy is ultra sharp wide open on 35mm (it´s probably the sharpest focal length on this lens)

How often do you shoot wide open with the 35? For the 24-70 that I have, I have to stop down to f4 to get acceptable results. It is a great all around travel/photo journal lens but I would rather use a fast prime for portrait work if I am working with only available light.

Pretty often, honestly, but I don't feel as though it's something I can't live without. For paid work, the 35 came out for group shots (f5.6 or greater typically) and for some wedding reception work (typically at f2.8-f3.2). Anyway, my 24-70mm came in the mail yesterday and so far I'm pretty happy with it. It seems reasonably sharp wide open and remarkably sharp >f5.6. Here are a few of my earliest shots to contribute to this thread with . The first two are wide open (imgur degrades the sharpness a little) and I'm not sure what the last one was, but I love it.

I just picked this lens up from the classifieds on FM. Got it Tuesday and finally got to shoot a little with it yesterday. Pretty dismal weather and landscape here in SE Iowa, sure would be nice to get some snow!
Here are a few from around my place of our pets. I will have to say, I really like this lens and the combo of subject isolation/bokeh it produces.

Dont know if you got any snow today, but here in Central Iowa, we had some areas get as much as 6 inches. We only had an inch here in Des Moines.

We were teased by a few flakes but that's it. Sure doesn't look like Christmas eve outside.
