Hi I tried some video trials.
In daylight it's fine, other than it's pretty difficult to keep anybody in focus [any tips on that gratefully recieved].

However when I use it indoors and say want to increase the light level I decided to use my 2 Bowens [500R and 250R]Monolight 'Modeling' Lamps circa 250w each.[as I have them]

Problem is people tend to look a little orange coloured, not just tanned but orangy. So I tried setting it to tungsten, which helped.
Any ideas or what would you set this to. I personally thought the Bowens moelling light was supposed to be = to 'natural daylight'.

I'm sure there is nothing wrong with the 7D or the Bowens it's just a user without a clue.
If I turned on a normal demestic ceiling light it made them more orangy coloured.
So I'd be really greatful if someone knew how to do this.

Not looking for prerfection as video is not my thing - but just prefer if they are inside not to look like theve been 'Tangoed'.

Your goal should be to have all the light sources in the scene (at least those which are actually providing illumination for your camera) be the same type of light source. That way, you can find a white balance setting (even if it's dialing a number for the color) which will give you the colors in your images that you're looking for. If you have mixed light source types, you'll never get the colors right across the scene. This is as true for stills as for video.

Thanks SkipD
I was just using the modeling lamps if it was nightime for the test, and turning of the normal lights.
I was hope some know what these type of modelling lamps were akin to really i.e incandescant or flourescent etc.
Thus tell me what the best setting for them wuld be.

Grab something white, Like a Sheet of Paper and then line it up into the Light, Get your Exposure for the Lighting first though. Meaning, Expose for Lights not the Paper. Than turn to Manual Focus, Shoot the Sheet of Paper. Hold the Paper like you were standing in the Light, Than take the picture. Make sure to get just the Sheet of paper in frame, So your final image should be White. Than use that Image as your Custom White Balance. Its not going to be perfect, but will Definitely help.

Thanks for that.
Problem is I don'y really understand how the video picks up the settings like exposure and compensations. My idea was to set up a variation of P as say C3 and save these settings if I then put the camera on C3 Mode - will it like in one shot Af use these settings?
Sorry for seeming dumb but i only ever really use one shot AF on stills.
But peole keep asking me for a camea video.
