Would you downgrade your computer for more camera gear?

NO! Computers amortized very quickly. It's worth less than half of what you paid for now.

Its pointless to "downgrade" just for more camera gear because computers become outdated very quickly.

What I would do is to "future proof" it for say three to four years, then update your camera gear if needed, if not, no I wouldn't buy just because someone else has "that"

As what everyone else says: no.

No offense but your computer isn't that great anyway. Your processor is roughly $200 new so you wouldn't get much for that. 8 GB of ram is cheap these days as well. The only thing is maybe your HDs but now everyone wants SSDs
