I have $500 to spend on Something, I was thinking a new Lens, But i have no idea what to get. Looking at my Gear list below, I have a Zoom, Prime and a Wide lens. I was thinking Macro, But is that really going to Benefit me? 55-250mm at 250mm, I can get pretty dam close to a Subject and if i throw on the Extension Tube, The outcome is awesome, But i just feel like i'm missing something.

My 18-55mm is from an old 450D so it doesn't do well on my T3i (600D/Kiss X5). I only use it for Video Now. So with that said, I was also looking at another Prime. 24mm or 28mm to be exact. Or i could just get another Flash with a Wireless Trigger. I don't know lol.

Any Suggestions?

Why spend the money if you don't really need anything?

If you want another prime and use your 50 a lot, I say upgrade that to a Sigma 1,4 or Canon 1,4. Well within your $500 budget with a little extra to buy something else.

Yea i was thinking about that too, But is the sharpness just as good as the 50mm 1.8? compared to the Canon 50mm 1.4. I would love to get that but having the 50mm 1.8 has really made me a Sharpness Freak. Sharpness isn't everything, But I would hate having to downgrade in sharpness and ive yet to come across a 50mm 1.4 RAW File from an 18MP Sensor. I have no place around me to test one out.

why not try an UWA? not sure if it fits your style, but, could be a fun lens to fool around with!

The 50 1.8 definitely isn't the sharpest lens out there, even when it's stopped down. A few friends have the Sigma and they praise it. Just take a look on Flickr for the Sigma (external link) and Canon (external link) and judge for yourself. Both are great lenses, though.

I can appreciate that. I just think impulse buying lenses without a specific need results in a cool lens sitting in your bag unused. That's what has happened to me a few times.

That said, if you say you don't like your 18-55 and were interested in a 24 or 28mm prime, why not combine all those into an f2.8 standard zoom like the Tamron 17-50. Then you get a really great standard zoom and fast f2.8 aperture over both 24 and 28mm focal lengths.

I'm open minded, Just as long as its not too wide. 18mm is probably the max ill be conformable with realistically speaking.

I still kick myself for selling the 100mm macro. Hands down the sharpest lens I've every had. I didn't even shoot traditional macro all that much, but for a creative walkaround and portraits, it's very fun.

17-40 is by far one of the worse lens money can buy for crop.

Either replace your kit 18-55 with a better lens such as the Tamron 17-50 non-vc or Sigma 17-50 OS, or get another prime such as Sigma 30 or Canon 85 1.8.

If you like tele, stretch your budget a little and go for the 70-200f4, or Canon 60mm or Tamron 90mm for macro.

So many choices ;)

If you do go for a flash, you wont need a wireless trigger, because the 600d has a wireless flash transmitter, so when your buying a flash look for flashes that worth with the wireless flash transmitter built into the following cameras:
7D
60D
650D
600D
A camera i always recommend is the 580EX II which is $600 on amazon, but you can find it much cheaper on ebay. The 430 EX II also has wireless flash capabilities.

My opinion is that the Canon EasyWireless system is overrated. You have to be concerned with line-of-sight issues and the range is not that great. I'll be getting some cheap RF triggers for sure.

If you want to spend money, get a flash like the 430EXII, cheap RF triggers from Yongnuo, a light stand, umbrella etc and have some fun with portrait lighting.
