He seems not to have a 100% understanding of the different AF sensor types that are used in different Canon camera models. For cameras like the 1D Mark III, for example, you don't get high-precision focus with f/2.8 lenses if you don't orient the line you are focusing at correctly, not even with the center point.
For a 1DX, it doesn't matter (with certain AF points).
