I have been playing with different crops for this, to keep that tiny little bee (?) in the photo and make him draw more attention, but it is proving difficult as everything is so yellow. This is SOOC. Have at.

This would prob make a better macro shot because its harder to tell what the subject is..the flowers or the be. Maybe a few flowers and the bee. The green peeking through the flowers will break up the shot. Something like this maybe.

Start over again. If you want the bee, you want a close crop with a macro lens. If you want the flowers, get them all in, lower the aperture or change your camera position so that they'll all be in focus. Make it a vertical crop.

My car was broken in to and lenses were stolen in June, so working on restocking the lens collection. Difficult with 2 kids under 18 months, but slowly saving up the cash. Hadn't used my lame 18-55 in a while before then but I'm working on getting used to it again :)

I appreciate the comments guys :)

I like the 18-55! It's far from lame really. Just have to get a little closer to the subject.;)

I guess it just seems lame because I feel like I'm starting all over again. :(

Also I'm allergic to bees so I always feel like I'm gonna get stung if I get too close! I have one bee shot that I really like. I'm on my phone (I've become a POTN addict lol) but when I get home on Sunday I will post it!

Or starting to learn that it's not all the fancy glass that can get you a great photo?;) I am now going to put the 18-55 on the camera and go play:cool:

i'd crop it like this...it may be a little much, depending on what you plan to do with the photo...i think it looks better when the subject is looking towards the open space of the photo as opposed to towards the closer edge of the photo

I'd crop out most of the background and place the bee at the upper right thirds intersection.
