Day 1 was amazing and I was truly feeling like I'd be able to get 6 or so castles in before I just ran out of time. After flying a red eye in to Gatwick and staying at the Best Western near the airport I was looking forward to staying at a quaint little Inn.

So my destination was the New Flying Horse Inn in Wye. It was awesome. My room was in the converted stables building and I was impressed with both the service and the food. Having a pint with the locals really made me feel like a part of the beautiful countryside. A complimentary breakfast the next morning was all I needed to fuel my castle drive!

Here are some of my favs from Day 2 (Day 2 I saw Bodiam, Dover, Walmer, Deal and Camber)

Bodiam Castle

Congrats great pics. Sadly you have now visited more castles than the majority of those that live here.

Great pics, I live in Kent within a short distance of all of these and have visited them all a few times with exception of Camber castle, I've been to Camber many times and never realised they had a Castle .... and I learn about it from someone who lives the other side of the Atlantic !

All the pics bring back nice memories of my visits, but that last shot is a classic, glad you enjoyed yor time in our little neck of the woods.

Thanks! I did my best to do this trip on the cheap, but in the end I stopped worrying about the money and enjoyed crossing it off my bucket list. I can't wait to go back!

You're welcome and thanks! I ended up "following" that lamb around the castle for about 5 minutes. He was just as curious about me as I was about him.

Thanks. I'm guilty of the same thing here, but am slowly trying to correct that. I guess that means I'm growing up a bit. HA!

Kent was absolutely gorgeous! It was honestly some of the most beautiful countryside that I've ever seen. Camber castle sits in the middle of sheep pastures and directions to it are not as easy as I thought. I parked next to the locke and then found the public footpath and then you could see it off in the distance. It was a fantastic experience!
