I just got my refurbished 60D from the CLP today. I am trying to find out the shutter count. I charged the battery and inserted a card into the camera. Took a picture and the file name was: IMG_6858. Can I assume that my shutter count is somewhere in the neighborhood of 6858?

I've tried looking for something that will work on my Macbook Pro but all the programs I am finding are windows based.

Just wondering if anyone can help me.

Thanks in advance.

You can probably assume that that image number is AT LEAST equal to the shutter count, but the image numbers can be reset...Don't know a program that works for the Mac...Have you tried eoscount.com?

Plug your camera to your mac with a usb and launch the program on this site, the 60D is a digic IV processor so it should work:
