This young looking Great Blue Heron wasn't too interested in having it's picture taken this evening. I had to content myself with a few quick shots before he headed out for more private dining.

That first one is quite interesting, Mike; I've never seen the neck feathers stand out like that; well done.

I haven't either. I'm assuming it was an alarm reaction to the shutter sound which seemed to agitate him before he flew off.

Both shots are pretty good, my fave is the 1st one. Love that 'cactusy' look of the neck :)
