Last year air show all I have was 70-200mm F4L non IS,

This time I plan to use my 300mm F4L IS
Setting I have in mind is AV, F5.6, AI servo and continues shot...

Any other suggestions for setting? I will have a very good spot. (I-90 bridge)
and should I attached my Canon 1.4x II TC?

Thanks

Peter

Use a high shutter speed -- preferably 1/1600 second or faster, but if you are very steady handed, you could go as low as 1/800. I don't think that the extender is a good idea for handheld shots at that long FL. If you try it, use a very high shutter speed. Use ISO 400 or even 800 if your camera does well at that ISO. Never mind continuous shooting unless you are trying to capture certain rapid maneuvers like a Lomcevak.

Thank for the advised...I really appreciate it. The weather forecast is actually the warmest seafair weekend since 1959 so will have plenty of sunshine. For sure my shutter speed would be in the range of 1/1600 and over. I will use ISO 400.

with the TC I am actually thinking of not bringing it.
Thanks again.

Go over your photos from last year, what do you want to improve, then determine the steps to take to make it happen. Take a bag with the 70-200 the converter and start the day off with the 300, see how it goes and make adjustments and changes as needed, the converter is very lightweight so it shouldn't me much of a waste if you have it but don't use it.
