For those of you wanting to know, it works! (for the most part) I did this to my kit lens for s&g's just before animazement in Raleigh Nc this past year. The Image quality remained the same for the best part was when I confused the hell out of the guy a jimmy johns, during lunch. One of the guys behind the counter saw it and thought it was an actual L lens lol. He knew enough to know it looked weird for an L lens and that something wasn't quite right. I explained and we had a nice little laugh over it. I have since gotten a hood for this lens, thus making it look even more 'pro'. Its pretty funny.
