I have to say, great feedback from Scott, it's nice to have a true expert providing such valuable feedback.

I like what cmm was trying to do, but i'm not sure I like the result. I had a bit of a play myself. I cropped to 4:3 to get the couple into a position suggested by the rule of thirds: i'd have preferred 2:3 but there wasn't enough image for that. The first image I added a little saturation, for the second I partially desaturated the background. It's a little cheesy so I try not to go over the top with the effect.
