I must have too much time on my hands .......Took some of that time this morning to shoot these. All shot outside and the water droplets are courtesy of a leaky eavestrough. C and C always welcome.

Great creativity Gary.
Love the colours, sharpness of detail, perfect use of existing light.
"Frozen" (pardon the pun); water droplets are great.
Texture in the last two shots gives an elusion of desert sand.

These are very good, Gary. You've included several different compostions that are sure to please. The blue really works off the coolness of the snow. Nice job.

Neat! The product of a creative mind. Very nice job. I like the colors and shadows you've captured. The water drops are quite good.

adam* Wow, why is the container so blue?

The container/vase is made of dark blue glass. The combination of bright sunlight which is reflecting off the snow and is also being diffused ( around the base of the container) by the same snow, serves to amplify the blue color of the glass.

I have to say I am quite pleased that you have all enjoyed these photos. I had quite a bit of fun putting them together on a beautiful sunny  day on Sunday. Spur of the moment where/when I saw the bottle on the window sill in the basement and wondered what that would look like contrasted agains bright snow..hmm ....The winters can be brutal but when the sun shines and the snow is melting its quite invigorating to get outside to take it all in. In this case I provided the glass container and the camera. Mother Nature provided the rest. I used a Canon 200mm F2.8L and a a Canon 1.4x tc so many of the shots are taken from some distance. I experimented using ISO 100 and 200...some shots are RAW format and others are Fine JPEG. All photos were taken in Shutter Priority mode ( Tv) and apertures ranged from 4000th sec at F4 JPEG( photo #2) and 1000 th sec at F11 RAW ( photo #5). I will close with a couple more shots from the same day...Thanks again for looking and for your comments.:D

I like these very much. The blue container and the bright snow is a wonderful combination and the water droplets add a certain flair to it all!

How fun! These are really appealing and I hope you have since thawed out.:) I wander if the first image would benefit from a slight crop off the top, effectly making it a square format. The last two of the first set are my fav's.
