So I finally got my hands on my first M42 lens (CZ 35mm / 2.8) and tried using it yesterday. I was able to take pictures but noticed a weird issue which I think might be related to AF confirm chip.

1) I didnt hear any sounds when taking pictures
2) After I would take a picture and try to view it on the LCD it would show something for 1 second and turn of the LCD. With the lens / adapter removed it wouldnt do that.

Did anyone ever experience this kind of problem? I bought my adapter on Ebay so perhaps its just a bad copy?

I use an m42 adapter with my Pentax 50mm f/1.4, and I've never had that happen to me. It sounds like the adapter might be shorting out one of the contacts. They might not be lining up right, so I'd send it back before it causes permanent damage to your camera.

You could try taping over the contacts, or...... press the lens release button and slightly back off the adapter so that the contacts do not line up and make contact.
