I can do 3/4 shots all day long, and it would possibly take that waiting for a clear background, so I stuck to trying to do closer shots as I'm not very good at that.
There was also a racing element to the event - my photos from that are in this thread and there are some other shots of both kinds on Flickr here (external link).

id rather wait for a 3/4 shot, it shows the whole car and while waiting get details along the way. think smarter, not harder.


its not how you take the picture, its the final result before editing.

I think you might have misunderstood. It wasn't a case of not wanting to wait for them (I had to wait for most of these too), just that they're very straightforward (in this kind of environment where you can't control anything) so I didn't take many of them and the ones I have I haven't uploaded.
