I've always been facinated with those shots you'll see on certain Discovery Channel shows of worker ants and other small creatures going about their daily lives. So I went out into my backyard to see what I could capture on video. I don't own a true Macro lense, but I can get pretty close using Extension Tubes and Tele extenders on my various lenses. The 85 and 50mm f1.8 lenses are some of the best for doing this as well as my 24-70L, which says it's a Macro lens, but not really.

Anyhow, this is a quick little film about a world we see often, but up a bit closer.

Thanks for looking! :D

Thanks guys. Its funny, because just this morning I found a preying mantis in my backyard. They are so super cool to shoot. They always pose for the camera and posture as if they want to cut your head off if you get too close. This one this morning actuall took a swipe at my hand. Tough little bug!

Artyman, the music is from Joe Sample, song is called "Summertime" and the album is called Invitation. It's one of my favorite albums all time.

I have a set of Kenko DG tubes. They allow the camera to still "talk" with the lens. They cost about $170 or so now. I got them back when they were only $120 or so. Why the price has risen on them is beyond me. No glass in them, maybe its an import thing. Anyhow, the set comes with a 12mm, a 20mm and a 30mm tubes.
