My old 400mm 5.6L...so much so that I bought it back this week. :) Just can't replace such a lightweight telephoto lens, and even AF's incredibly well with a 1.4TC with taped pins on my 7D.

I still have the Sigma 120-300 2.8 OS that replaced my old 400mm. I just decided they were different tools for different jobs.

I upgraded my 18-135 to a 24-105L about 8 months ago. Although I LOVE the L, the zoom range on the 18-135 on my 60D makes me want to buy it back...

I traded off my 24-70L for a 16-35II because I had no need for the 24-70 in the near future and can cover the middle ground between the 70-200 with my Sigma 50mm. Once I get my feet on the ground, the 24-70L might make a return.

I've owned two or more copies of the 17-40, canon 70-300, 18-55, 55-250, Tamron 70-200, sigma 70-200 hsm ii and the OS version, canon 70-200 f4l is and 100-400. Some because I was looking for best copy but mostly just because if my needs and wants at a particular time. Most were bought used and sold for essentially what I paid (making a few bucks on some and losing a few bucks on some).

I've bought and sold many lenses but the one I truly miss the most is the 135L. Pure magic.

Hardly ever regret. You just have to think back why you sold it the first place.

I wish I would have owned a 200 f/1.8 to miss. If I had owned one I know I would truly miss it.

I rarely sell a lens. If I do, it is because I'm upgrading from a 50mm 1.8 to a 50mm 1.4. Considering that a good len's holds it value and Canon's price increases, it is the same as having money in a savings account. But, it is more fun to have the lens you may use only occassionally, than to have the money sitting in a saving account. (You should have money in a savings account too.) If finances or bad health forced me to sell, I could probably sell every lens I have for at least what I paid for it and some for more than I paid for it.

Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8. I thought I didn't need it because I fell in love with the 50 1.4 on FF and decided to purchase a 17-40 for the wide end. But I missed the 28-75 too much and had to get it back.

I'm really glad I was able to find a deal on a replacement. I have a decent variety of lenses but the 28-75 is probably the one that gets the most use today.

I haven't. My 70-200 has been my go-to portrait lens, but whenever I visit the 135 photo thread, I'm blown away by the shots (and the talent!). I've been a good boy, maybe I deserve a treat...

I have to admit that the 135L is on my target list even though I have that focal length covered rather nicely with the 70-200 2.8 II and the f4 IS.
I have a 24-105 and a 17-40 so I think my focus will be primes going forward.
I recently got a refurb 2X III extender from Canon and not realizing it doesnt come with a warranty card called and asked. They said we'll send you another one and it didn't have one either.
The second time I called a guy got on the line from tech and said the refurbs only have a 90 day warranty.
I knew that, but I thought it would still have the original warranty card.
So now I have two of these and i'm not sure I want either of them.
LOL

Keep an eye out on the for sale forum.

Getting back to primes though. I have an 85 1.8 & 50 1.8.
For some odd reason I have been thinking that I would be better served with a 50 1.4 to go on my 5D III
But that 135 and the pics I have seen makes me want that one bad.

I'd say 135L takes the cake for most re-bought lens. I too thought that the 70-200 II would render the 135L completely useless so I sold it and here I am a few months later with it on the UPS truck coming back to my house. It really does render images differently than the 70-200 II and it's way lighter. Also, the AF is like blindingly fast on it. I've never used a lens that focuses that fast and that was on the 5DII, so I'm pretty excited to see what it can do on the 5DIII now. I also like that it doesn't draw any attention.

Basically, bottom line is if you have a 135L and buy a 70-200, think long and hard before you sell the 135L. It does not become redundant like you think it does at first.

I've never sold a lens, but interesting how many people miss the 135L. I must say I got one recently and it is one of those lenses you get and suddenly want to use for everything. I have to resist when I know it's not the right FL.

When I look at the shots from it, somehow it seems to make me look like a better photographer than (I think) I am. The first couple I times I used it I literally started processing the images and thought 'WOW', did I really take these? So much for it's all the photog and not the equipment, I think this might be an exception.
