50mm 1.2 focus speed

Curious of 50mm 1.2 owners who shoot sports how it fairs?

I have shot this lens a bit at event in low light and was happy with it but never got a chance to shoot any action with it.

Currently shoot a 50mm 1.8II and its fine for what I need it for on the action end but pretty useless for me on anything low light, I never mount it for paid work that requires a fast lens.

Been trying to get a 50mm 1.4 which I have owned before and been happy with but again, not the greatest lens for wide open event work, in my experience at least.

Long story short how is the 1.2 for high speed action, using 1-Series and a 7D bodies?

It is a dog on the 5D2, but that is more a product of the body (everything is a dog). In reality, I think you'll find the 50L plenty fast enough on a capable body and with good technique.

I agree^. On my 5D2 the speed didn't wow me at all.
