Canon 7D audio issues when taking video

I'm working on a project for my workplace and have been using my 7D to record some video. Unfortunately, the audio taken from the camera itself seems to have a really high pitched sound (mosquito tone) regardless of where I take the video. I have included two pictures from Adobe Audition CS6 where you can see a horizontal line defining the sound. I can easily delete this line but that's not the point, is my 7D defective or is this completely normal? I know an external mic is the optimal solution but I won't be recording video for quite a while after this project.

Hmmm, attachments showed up in very bad quality but the horizontal line is clearly around the top of each audio track.

Have u tried turning the IS off?

To get the best audio quality, you are going to have to use an external mic... the onboard mic will pick up everything, including all the body and lens noises.

Wow, I knew it was such an easy solution. I had auto-focus off but not IS. Thanks so much, that was it.
