I received a new 24mm f/1.4L II today and there is no date code. I know Canon stopped putting date codes on the new 70-200mm f/2.8L II but did they stop on all new lenses?

msowsun "approx 8mm" More info | Aug 08, 2012 16:23 | #2 Is your serial number 7 digits or 10 digits? If it is 10 digits it will not have a date code. Gesh I found the date code, UA0605. I was looking for a grey printed number and this one was etched which I could only see in a very bright light.
