Selective focus is OK in macro, but the subject (bee?) should always be tack sharp. As is, some of the bee and some of the flower are sharp, which makes me wonder what to look at. To me it looks like the right amount of bee and flower in focus for this angle. I'm pretty sure we're supposed to be looking at both the flower and bee, with the interaction of the 2 being the subject. Just my take on it. If steroids are illegal for athletes, should PS be illegal for models?

I like your cropping and focus on the bee! Incredible! How are you liking the 100mm? Facebook

I agree it is slightly under exposed. I might back the vignetting off just a little but that's personal taste. 5D Mark II | 7D

Love the bee sucking for the pollen. Also the angle works well to give it some action feeling. Really good shot ![]() Thanks for the observations. I made a few changes.

It is very unassuming when you first pick it up, but once you put it on your camera it definitely lives up to its awesome reputation! Lots of fun to work with and a little bit of a challenge working with such shallow DOF. Joe Moreno/Santa Cruz,CA
