Pick two:
IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: NOT FOUND | MIME changed to 'image/gif' | Redirected to error image by FLICKR

Pick2 (external link) by Mandrake Photography (external link), on Flickr

Current stable of lenes include and old 24-85 & 70-300, the 40mm STM and 70-200 IS II w/1.4x TC.

Drop the 50 as it is too close to the 40 you already own. The 85 will do you right.

I think I'll finally put in the order for the 100-400.

How about instead of the 16-35 get the 24-70 VC from Tamron? I don't normally go wider than 24 and the VC will help with video.

I don't know anything about that Tamron, but yeah if it's a good lens then that is certainly a good option.

 Yeah that lens is pretty slow...

It's like Stepping Motor or something technically though.

haha, i never bothered to look, but it definitely does sound different, and slow to focus as well. Worst of all, no manual focus override!!! To be expected at this price, but still lame. Crazy sharp though!!

I've seen several 85L II's for $1550-$1600 shipped this last week. At those prices, makes little sense to pay $2k new fr 1-year of warranty

Hmm... picked up some new dress shirts last week and went with the slim fit this time... what a world of difference. Slim fit is the way to go.

STM means Stepper Motor.

In that case, should have been called SM... or maybe S&M :p

With my frame, slim is impossible, especially for shirts. I envy beanpoles :p:lol:;)

Plus I have a 50 on my Nikon but it is a crop sensor body.

New list. None are a "need" just want.

Agreed...except for the S&M part

The Stepper Motor is supposed to work better with contrast detect AF as well as AF during video. While USM is better at focusing right on a focus point in a phase detection system.
