About a year ago I bought a cheapo tablet with stock android, and it was pure crap. Slow as hell, couldn't play anything. Most functions didn't work, and it didn't even have the proper drivers for the wifi module. I put ice cream sandwich on my hp touchpad using the cyanogen mod, and it wasn't much better. Couldn't play videos. Couldn't install or run any game apps. So yeah, I'll take the devices that have been heavily supported, thanks. Stock android gives me that "running linux" feeling.

After reading the release info, I'll take a new kindle over an ipad. I'm conflicted over taking the 9" model with the $50 annual data plan, vs the HD 7" model.
