Well that is the only thing they would compete on because res is out the window. So it comes down to ISO: Less MP should increase ISO performance at all levels but Nikon wouldn't undercut the D800 or D4 in that way.

How do I gain membership? Trust me. You really don't want to. jdizzle wrote in post #15002582 Jon, did you check out that link on the Aussie Pink Floyd band? They're good. But I don't even listen to much of the original these days. Chet wrote in post #15002684 It doesn't show up on my smiley list. Yours must be a more advanced version. I like it though. There was plenty of garbage from random sources assuming it would perform better at higher iso's than the D800 because of the lower MP count. This day and age MP count is mattering less and less when it comes to high iso performance. The sensor and processor performance have a lot more to do with it.

I looked at it from a camera lineup point. No way Nikon makes the D600 at 2100 bucks out ISO the D800 at 3k regardless of how low the MP is. Then factor in the fact that if it does out ISO the D800 then it starts to creep on to the D4. I would expect it to come under the D800 and D4 in terms of iso performance. -Omar- Flickr
