First OCF portraits on the beach

I have only used my triggers with my 580EX II twice now. And that was with cars. Booked a shoot on the beach with this nice family. I was really nervous about getting the shots right, but I think I calmed myself down and was able to get so OK results.

Equipment used:

Canon 5D II
Canon 85mm F/1.8 USM
Bare 580EX II with Cowboy studio triggers

What a great series of photos. I think you handled the flash so well! The whites are detailed and excellent, greta clarity on the people themselves. They must be thrilled

Nice Images. Looks like the sun was really harsh at the time of the shoot. I'm pretty sure that more late at noon you could have better results though. You handled that flash flawlessly and the details on the whites is crazy

I have those triggers and I love them. No reason to spend $500 in Poket Wizards if you use the flash in manual.

Good shots but, if I could offer one suggestion...rather than take single shots, shoot them in burst mode. That way you would have source images for swapping out, in this case, closed eyes.

Agreed. I need to shoot more shots. Although, the mom and dad looked that way even in person.

They were squinting....but I agree.

Another with a different editing technique. Not sure if I like it, but most people seem to love this look.
