Perusing youtube I found the trailer for this guys video. I have to admit I like slick, shiny objects. This video looks well shot. I don't know who the guy is but I'm sure some of you probably do. Looks like he does lighting workshops as well. Anyway, has anyone dropped the coin to check out his vid? It's download only right now but says DVD's are on the way.

Looked at the trailer.
Probably worth the $49. It sounds like basic flash photo instruction.
Perusing the website and his workshop website it sounds like another commercial/portrait/wedding photographer has discovered how much money there is doing workshops and videos for the amateur photographer market.

Although, with him being so near Syl Arena, there may be some market saturation. :-)

The trailer gave me the impression that it would be a well made production. My problem is that I don't really know where I fall in the learning phase. I think I'm about full up on "book" knowlege. I just need to get out more and apply it. The video may be entertaining but, if I don't learn anything new it probably isn't worth the money. I could get two months of unlimited videos on Kelby Training for the cost of this guys video.

Kelby Training is much better.
There are some great tutorials there about flash.
Syl Arena, Joe McNally to name two.

The best way to get comfortable with flash is to practice/play.

I must have thousands of files of Mannie my mannequin head from trying different lighting schemes or testing ETTL etc.
