i am a new lightroom user and i have been an apple aperture user for at least two or three years now but made the switch for more editing options and im just really trying to take my post processing to the next level as i dont feel aperture quite filled the gap of my needs, not that it isnt a great program because it is i just feel lightroom is a better fit or at least that is my hope once i learn to use it.

could someone recommend a website with key board short cut keys as i know most of these books probably wont cover them all.

so my question is what are some great books to learn to use this powerful too (im more of a book learned then a video watcher although im not opposed to videos)

these are the three books im looking at
1.
http://www.amazon.com …keywords=Lightroom+4+book (external link)
2.
http://www.amazon.com …keywords=Lightroom+4+book (external link)
3.
http://www.amazon.com …keywords=Lightroom+4+book (external link)

im looking for the book that is able to give me the best coverage of the basics since i am an adobe newbie and have no carry over knowledge from prior editions of lightroom or photoshop with any real depth.

all are about the same price and im familiar with kelbys work so im sorta leaning in that direction although the first book seems to offer 11 actual hands on lessons so that is why im a tad divided, but am open to any suggestions.

thanks for any input you might have :)

On the question of keyboard shortcuts...

Press Cmd-/ (Menu > Help > xxx Module Shortcuts) which will display shortcuts related to the module in which you are currently working.

Before buying a book, take a look at THESE (external link) videos by Julianne Kost or THESE (external link) by Adobe TV. Together they should give you a very good grounding such that a book may not be necessary.

I would save your money if I were you. LR is an easy to understand and very straightforward program. There are thousands of youtube tutorials and written tutorials about pretty much any topic. Ask your question on google and put 'lightroom' at the end and you'll be set.

I was new to LR, and found Kelby's book very helpful.

I like Martin Evening's Books (#3). I have his PS and LR books; they are great reference books to have. I recommend his books to everyone.
