Background is too "active" - too distracting, pulls attention away from the foreground objects / butterfly. The foreground plant life at left almost blends into the bkg.

It's over done for my taste. So I take this is a singe toned mapped image instead of a multiple exposure. The original pic is under exposed and I usually find bokeh and HDR/tonemapped don't do well together, especially if you over cook it, it makes the bokeh look too busy.

Wow Ron, you post stuff and say you welcome criticism, but you don't. I too find the background so busy that's it's hard to find the subject of the image.

Sometimes it's best just not to post images if you can't take instructive criticism.

Sorry you find me that way . I do take criticism if it's in good taste . What PNC did was criticism in the wrong way . As many pictures i have posted here he has not yet one time gave any good advice or good criticism to me . Yet i have seen his website pictures for sale and i found none of any interest to me that i liked . The HDR he looks for does not sell so i guess the best thing for me is to just delete my pictures and never post in the HDR section cause as long as you and him criticise no one here can win or get any better . So have a good day .

Taking your marbles and going home is certainly the correct answer.

What was 'wrong' with the criticism?

It wasn't gushing unqualified praise.
