Harvest is in full swing here. This is actually an hdr composite of 2 different images. The sky was just so clear and colorless that I decided to swap out the sky for a more dramatic sky. +2 0 -2, photomatix for combining exposures, lightroom adjustments and than photoshop for final work.

I like the color and contrast as well. It does look like it's leaning a little left though.

Very good job processing ! Now if you had a WF shot of it in action and about 50 yards away it would make for a great grunge look and a wallhanger ! :) Honest !

Nice image - I think the replacement sky is well done, but too dark for the lighting in the scene - try quick selecting the sky, copying it to a new layer above the original {CMD/CTR - J], setting the blend mode to Screen, with an opacity of about 75%. The detail will still be preserved, but the lighting will look a little more consistent with the combine and field.

The detail in the image is nicely rendered - it may be able to stand up to a little more global contrast, if you wanted to move toward that look. Try a levels adjustment with a black point of about 13 and a gamma (midpoint slider) of about 0.85. This will reestablish the sky and the combine contrast together.

You're welcome. Another little trick to add some punch is to add a gradient adjustment layer (I know, who ever uses those?) and use the default black to white gradient - set the blend mode to luminosity and adjust opacity to taste. THere are a ton of preset gradients for photographic toning as well. A little known and little used tool.

Kirk....

I'm "green" with envy about your processing technique. Nicely done. I enjoy this type of shot because for some reason it makes me take pause and study the details.
