You might look at this one ... http://cgi.ebay.com …ain_0&hash=item2ea9909a25 (external link). The adapter is heavy duty and might fit your Genesis. Comes with a grid also ... very nice.

Thanks for the suggestion but Ive decided to make due using my beauty dish with my Vivitars for now......Now that I know that the diffusion sock makes little difference in the light quality (thanks to Rob(TMR)) I can eek out all the power in that flash.

Im using one of those umbrella softbox things.....Im hoping the 60" size isnt too unwieldy......

Unfortunately the 60" is a bit large, it is a bit unwieldy, it can be a bit awkward with "domestic" ceilings............

But you done good :D !!

You'll love it, I have the Softlighter in 60", and while it is all of the above it's just awesome, don't believe people who says "Size doesn't matter".........

We all know it does :D :D

Austen.

I just want to take nice photographs of people.

Yeah, I was looking at that one. Do you own one?

Fellow Dallasite. What part of town are you in?

Yes, I just received this unit. Nice, actually. The finish is a bit soft but overall I am very happy. Sad part is for us folks in Texas is sales tax. The seller is great (per his ratings). I'm in North Dallas/Plano. You?

THanks, I contemplated getting the 48" version but I figured I had a 40" brolly box already so why no go with the larger box for better full body coverage.

I got a shoot coming up in a boxing gym with 5 models so be able to put it thru its paces......

Got it here

It works fine with my vivitars but unfortunately I dont think I can mod it to work with my Genesis monolight.

I kind of want a bigger one

Here is my studio. It's in my one car garage right now. We plan on buying a bigger house which I will have to take in account room for the setup. I posted it earlier, but I've cleaned it up and made it better.

2 Genesis 200 Strobes, 430EX for rim and some cheapo ebay strobe as a hair light, rigged at the top. My practice head, his name is harry with a Joe Elliot wig.

^ you can notice that you were trying to make the background darker in photoshop. I highly suggest you get your monitor calibrated or get yourself an IPS panel monitor.

But cool little studio :)

Thanks!

You have just confirmed what I have felt for a while! I really need to stop procrastinating and calibrate the monitor!

IMHO, the hair light is a bit much too. It's becoming a halo rather than separation, but maybe that's what you were going for. I'll be quiet now.

@ ClayKerri
What backdrop and stand do you have? How much and from where? That looks like the perfect size I could use in my dining room. If you dont mind sharing info.
